New Additions to the farm

We have wanted to add some cows to our small farm for ages and finally found a couple of Dexter cows not to far from home.  The drought this summer has been very bad so they need to put on some condition, fingers crossed that one or both are in calf because I am planning on training them to be house cows so that we can have our own fresh milk.  I'm sure it's going to be an interesting experience to say the least as I have never owned a cow before let alone trained one to do anything, but I am certainly up for the challenge!

Introducing Charlotte (red), Matilda (black) and a few of our recently born Dorper lambs.

My New Office Boy

I thought I would introduce my blog readers to my new office boy.  This is my daughter's pony "Raj", a very much loved member of our family. From time to time I like to do strange things that blow my kids minds - like let the pony come into the house.  I know what your thinking, but its not the first time that I have been called a crazy animal lady;)  Guilty as charged, but I can't help it - he's such a great little guy, he absolutely adores my daughter and has the biggest personality and attitude of all the animals on our farm.  Sadly he was very badly abused at some stage in his past, so we do what we can to make sure he knows that not all humans are bad.

2011 Mayanup Campdraft | Equestrian Event Photography

The annual Mayanup Campdraft was held last weekend but unfortunately I only managed to get down there for a little while on Sunday afternoon, so I won't be creating a gallery for this event (but if you competed Sunday afternoon and would like photos please let me know).

There were some beautiful horses as usual, and the odd cantankerous cow :)

Here are a few of my favourites from the afternoon.

2011 Country Music Festival | Boyup Brook Photography

The 2011 Boyup Brook Country Music Festival and Ute & Truck Muster saw our little town overflow with visitors from all around Australia during the festival which ran from 16-20 February.

Visiting artists included Troy Cassar-Daley, Peter Denahy, Loring Nicholson, Graham Rodger, Amber Joy Poulton, The Crack-Up Sisters and my personal fave, Cam McAzie - The Bad Piper (nothing quite like a punk playing rock music on the bagpipes at a Country Music Festival!).

Heres a few shots from Fridays concert in the park and Saturday's street Festival and Ute & Truck muster street parade.
